Where We Are Located
The Dayget office is at 14 Vincent St, one of the main streets in Daylesford, between the Freemasons Hall and the Police Station.
It all began with the search for a weekend retreat.
In the early 1990s the co-owners of Dayget, Chris and Wayne, were searching for a location for a weekend retreat. With family roots in the area dating back to the early 1900’s, they decided Daylesford was where they wanted to create a quiet escape from their busy lives in Melbourne.
They noticed that the accommodation options in the area were limited, so after building their own weekend retreat, they began to build more architectural villas to cater for other visitors to the region. When they presented them to the booking agents in town, they were told they were “too contemporary” to list. Imagine that!
So, Chris and Wayne decided to create their own booking agency, one that would represent the best accommodation they could find in the region. Together with Wayne’s mum and dad they started their own agency before moving to the area full time. Then in 1999 they officially launched Daylesford Getaways with just a handful of properties.
Today Dayget is still owned by Chris and Wayne and has grown to list over 150 properties in Daylesford, the surrounding villages and a little further afield.
